Fans of "Orange is the New Black" may have discovered a new favorite actress after watching the first season, and that is transgender activist Laverne Cox, who plays Sophia Burset.
Laverne made Emmy history this week, as she was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. This makes her the first transgender actress to receive a nomination.
She received the nomination alongside 2 other co-stars, Udo Azuba (who plays Crazy Eyes) and Natasha Lyonne (who plays Nicky).
